Christopher Walken is an absolute legend and he’s appearance on Jonathan Ross last Friday was more than enough proof of this.

Well the first trailer was a pretty big flop in terms of what James Cameron was promising to deliver for Avatar. This full length theatrical trailer seems to flesh out a great deal more with terms of plot and characters but there’s something still not sitting right with me.

I’m wondering if its due to the fact that we don’t get many ‘original’ stories any more. Or rather nothing this epic. This trailer did impress me a little more, although I always think they show too much but the effects are still a little off and I’m not totally bought into the alien world yet.

Avatar hits December 18th…here’s hoping it can still impress.

Never been a huge fan of portable game playing. I have a PSP but I actually prefer to watch films ‘on-the-go’ with the device. There is no doubt that Nintendo’s DSi has been a fan favorite with an amazing library of games and ‘Ghostwire’, coming out in late 2010 actually looks pretty interesting.

Using the mic and camera on the DSi, as well as in-game tools like the “EMF tuner,” players search around them for hidden ghosts, and then attempt to give them peace by solving puzzles. Some ghosts will require items before they appear and interact with you, and some will apparently be malevolent and less receptive to your efforts. At which point, we assume, you have to solve their problems despite their lack of help, instead of just leaving them to go about their ghostly business.

Its been dubbed as propaganda (Gizmodo) but it does give me a good idea what life would be like if there was a tiered internet. Not a good thing whatsoever.

The first of three short films by Ubisoft and Hybride Studios was released yesterday. Details found at Wikipedia:

The story is a prequel to the upcoming video game Assassin’s Creed II. It centers around the father of the game’s main character, Giovanni “Ezio” Auditore da Firenze.

Giovanni is an assassin living during the Renaissance in 15th century Italy. At this dawn of a new era, a conspiracy is being plotted by one corrupted family to overthrow the powerful Medici family and destroy an unified Italy. As an assassin, Giovanni must face this threat and bring justice. The story introduces the situation before Assassin’s Creed II, and the enemies of both characters.

I’m not sure what to make of it really, the effects are created by the same studio house that brought us 300 but the budget must have been significantly lower as the effects shots in this are low TV quality at best. It’s good to see this sort of thing being made and clocking in at just under 15mins is some good work but it doesn’t quite gear me up for Assassin’s Creed 2 as much as I thought it would. Maybe they should stick to computer animated films and try to explain the story that way. It certainly works for Left 4 Dead.

So here’s a photo of the new A-Team in all their shiny, weird and sort of HD shot. I didn’t even recognise Liam Neeson as Hannibal but I must say they do have the look down with just the right modern touch added.

It didn’t take long, in true Apple fashion another ‘comedy’ advert has appeared and tries to show up the release of Windows 7. It’s quirky and cute but I’m not sure its really gonna hit Microsoft that badly. Maybe this advertising campaign is running on its last legs…
